This will include a discussion on the state of interprofessional education (IPE) across Canada, local curricular initiatives at Queen’s University, recent program evaluation data, and future directions. Through highlighting the strengths and challenges of interprofessional curricula, this session will provide valuable insights and discussion for educators and researchers looking to create or assess interprofessional/interdisciplinary initiatives.

Interprofessional Simulations & Educational Scholarship

Sims without Silos - Learners and Faculty as Partners. Learn more about an interprofessional simulation initiative co-designed with learners to strengthen collaborative care, education, research, and value-based healthcare across QHS community. This initiative integrates learners from the Schools of Medicine, Nursing and Rehabilitation Therapy into a structured, learner driven - faculty supported simulation ecosystem.

AI the Focus of January 2026 Session

Practical Uses of AI in Education Scholarship and Teaching Were Discussed

In this session speakers Dr. Eleftherios Soleas (Special Advisor to the Provost on Generative Artificial Intelligence & OPDES) and Dr. Benjamin Kwan (Medicine), applied ethical frameworks to AI use, facilitated thoughtful use of AI that advances skills, and discussed applications in scholarship and teaching.

Rounds Kicked off with Success in September

An Engaged Group of Attendees Built Connections & Expanded the QHS Education Scholarship Community

Thank you to the large group who joined us for the return of the Health Science Education Rounds on September 18^th, 2025. The series kicked off with an interactive session on education research, scholarship, and interprofessional community across QHS. Presenters highlighted key themes from a recent needs assessment survey on what’s happening in QHS and areas for growth.
