Join us May 18, 2023 for an Introduction to Simulation, presented by Queen's University Health Sciences Faculty Development. This program is open to anyone who is interested in simulation and simulation pedagogies and will be taught by Queen's Health Sciences faculty who are passionate about simulation. This faculty development program is accredited for up to 7 hours of accredited learning in both the CFPC and RC credit systems as well as providing up to 7 hours of professional learning for health professionals.

Overall Learning Objectives

  • Create plausible outlines of simulation driven lessons suited to different health professions learning (Collaborator, Communicator, Advocate)
  • Discuss the key factors in crafting interprofessionally valuable simulation (Collaborator, Leader, Advocate)
  • Identify the key components of a successful prebrief and de-brief (Collaborator, Communicator, Advocate, Scholar)
  • Assess prebriefing and debriefing paradigms for suitability to desired learning (Collaborator, Communicator, Scholar)
  • Assess different realisms and forms simulation pedagogy for viability for specific content to be taught (Scholar, Collaborator, Leader)

In an effort to host a “paperless” program, the agenda and presentations will be available online in the CPD Program Centre “Community”. We encourage you to bring a laptop/tablet to the program should you wish to access these items during the event.
