Dr. Cofie is a Health Education Researcher and Consultant with the Office of Professional Development and Educational Scholarship at the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS). He has a multidisciplinary background with degrees in Demography/ Population Studies, Sociology, and Political Science from the University of Ghana (B.A., MPhil.) and Queen’s University (M.A., PhD). He has received specialized training in Advanced Methods in Biostatistics (Queen’s University, Canada), Longitudinal Data Analysis (Western University, Canada), and Statistical/Demographic Data Analysis and Research Methods (United Nations Regional Institute for Population Studies, Ghana) and Policy Communication (Population Reference Bureau, USA). He has research expertise in research methodology, global health, resident/faculty assessments, program evaluation, GBV, child and maternal health, and the application of advanced multivariate and multilevel statistical modeling techniques including variance component regression models, event history modeling (survival analysis), and data reduction techniques (e.g., PCA, EFA, CFA, CA). Dr. Cofie has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in data analysis and advanced quantitative methods at universities in Canada. He collaborates with researchers from the FHS on various medical education and global health research projects and their scholarly works have been published in recognized peer-assessed journals and other accessible formats.
