BIOCHEMISTRY, HEALTH SCIENCE AND LIFE SCIENCES RESEARCH POSTER DAYS

Date: Tuesday, April 2nd, and Wednesday April 3rd, 2024

Time: 9 am to 12 noon and 1pm. to 4 pm for both days

Location: Biosciences Complex Atrium

IMPORTANT DATES

March 24th, 2024 @ 11:59 pm – Deadline to send poster for printing OnQ page and title sent to the Life Sciences and Biochemistry Program Office email: lifesci@queensu.ca

April 2nd and April 3rd, 2024 – Poster Days – you will be assigned a day to present. Details to follow.

STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare your poster

• Poster must be submitted for printing (see details below) by March 24th, 2024, at 11:59 pm.

• Email lifesci@queensu.ca your poster title by March 24th, 2024.

• Show up in the Biosciences Atrium on April 2nd or 3rd, 2024 at least 10 minutes prior to the start of your session (schedule to follow)

• Students will handle hanging your posters and removing them at the appropriate time. Pins will be provided.

Sumit only one poster document. If you need to make any changes, it’s your responsibility to send your poster to another location to be printed. No typos or errors will be re-printed.

POSTER FORMAT:

• Must be on a white background (dark coloured backgrounds will not be accepted).

• May include full colour diagrams.

• Standardized size (56"wide x 36" high) (PowerPoint template attached).

PRINTING OF THE POSTER:

Attached you will find the PowerPoint poster template to be used in making your poster.
Do not change the paper size.
Save your poster file to PDF format. Check for alignments.
Send your poster in PDF format to the OnQ page for printing.
Label your file with your subject area and your last/surname. For example, CANC_Smith.pdf.

There will be no proofs done after submission.
You will be notified to pick up printed poster at the office before presentation day and you will be responsible for bringing and hanging your poster on the day and time assigned.

PRINTING COST:

Associate Dean Undergraduate Studies QHS, Biochemistry, Health Sciences and Life Sciences programs will pay for your poster printing if you have submitted your poster by 11:59 pm on March 24th.
Submissions received after March 24th, will need to be printed directly by the student at their expense which will not be compensated for by the Program Office
Attention: Any posters with a greater than 20% white background will be charged an ink surcharge of $50.00.

POSTER PICK UP:

• Posters will be available at the Program Office for pick up, prior to presentation day on assigned dates, Room 815 at Botterell Hall.

• Posters must be removed on the same day by 12 noon if your presentation slot is in the morning and by 4:15 pm if you present in the afternoon slot.
