Life Sciences - LISC-Z - Minor (Science)
In combination with a Major plan in another subject, this will lead to a Honours Bachelors Degree.
Life Sciences - LISC-G-BSC - General (Science) - Bachelor of Science
This will lead to a Bachelor of Science Degree.
Life Sciences - LISC-P-BSH - Specialization (Science) - Bachelor of Science (Honours)
This will lead to a Bachelor of Science (Honours) Degree.
Life Sciences - LISC-M-BSH - Major (Science) - Bachelor of Science (Honours)
This will lead to a Bachelor of Science (Honours) Degree.

Follows List A. The Life Sciences Major Plan is recommended to students who wish to pursue a wider range of study than is possible with the Life Sciences Specialization Plan. Access to specialized courses at the 400 level may be limited, with priority given to students in the Life Sciences Specialization Plan program.

SUB-PLANS

BMDS: The Biomedical Discovery Sub‐plan is recommended to students who wish to gain advanced laboratory experience or experiential learning in Anatomy or Epidemiology/Public Health or Immunology or Microbiology or Pathology or Pharmacology or Physiology.

BMSS: The Biomedical Sciences Sub‐plan provides more flexibility in choice of options and electives than other sub‐plans, and is recommended to students who wish to obtain a wide‐ranging foundation in the life sciences with opportunities for advanced study in selected topics.

CANC: The Cancer Sub‐plan is recommended to students who wish to proceed to graduate studies and research in Cancer Biology and Genetics. Students intending to take this sub‐plan should consult the list of option courses required for completion of the program, and consider appropriate courses in Year 3.

CRSS: The Cardiorespiratory Sub‐plan is recommended to students who wish to proceed to graduate studies and research in the cardiovascular and respiratory sciences. Students intending to take this sub‐plan should complete PHGY 355/3.0 in Year 3.

DDHT: The Drug Discovery and Human Toxicology Sub‐plan is recommended to students who are interested in enriched study in the fields of drug discovery and development as well as in mechanisms of drug and toxicant action. Students will gain advanced knowledge which will make them competitive for graduate studies and marketable in particular employment areas (e.g. government regulatory agencies and pharmaceutical companies).

NSCI: The Neuroscience Sub-plan is recommended to students who wish to proceed to graduate studies and research in the neurosciences. Students intending to take this option should complete either NSCI 323/3.0 or NSCI 324/3.0 in year 3. It is strongly recommended that students in this Sub-plan complete both courses

Dual Degrees in the Faculty of Arts and Science

Dual Degree programs allow Queen’s Commerce, Applied Science and Nursing students to complete an Arts and Science General degree concurrently as they are working towards the completion of their primary degree in their home Faculty/School.

Starting in the Fall Term 2014 (application deadline June 1, 2014), students may apply for admission to a Dual Degree program combination with 13 different degree plans in the Faculty of Arts and Science. The Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Student Services Advisors, are the best source of information for Dual Degree students to ensure courses are assigned to the correct degree.

As noted in the Dual Degree Regulations

, Dual Degree students must meet the unit requirements of the Arts and Science Degree Plan in which they are registered as well as those of their primary degree.

Students may apply for a General (BA/BSC) degree in one of the programs listed below. Capacity to accept students in each degree plan is allocated for one academic year at a time. Students are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Dual Degree is only for a General degree (BA/BSC). Students may pursue a Second Degree consecutively (General or Honours) after they have graduated from their home faculty and have been accepted by Undergraduate Admission, if there is no overlap with their primary degree, and if the degree plan is able to accept Second Degree students

Fall admission - April 2 to June 1
Winter admission – June 2 to December 1
