Queen’s Health Sciences (QHS) needs your help to build a more inclusive, diverse, and accessible faculty. The QHS Office of Equity and Social Accountability is looking for members on our new Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Indigeneity, and Accessibility (EDIIA) Action Committees. The deadline for expressions of interest (Queen's NetID required) has been extended to Tuesday, January 17.
The QHS Action Committees have a mandate to implement the goals and recommendations developed as part of the Dean’s Action Table on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and outlined in the QHS EDIIA Action Plan. Our committees will strive to create and sustain a more equitable, diverse, inclusive, accessible, and culturally safe community for students, staff, and faculty using an intersectional and anti-oppression framework to inform the implementation of our action plan. The QHS EDIIA Action Committees are in the following areas:
- Black Students Application Program (BSAP)
- Learners Admissions, Recruitment, and Retention
- Mentorship
- Human Resources
- Inclusive Curriculum
- Professional Development
- Research
Under the leadership of designated co-chairs, each action committee will be comprised of a mix of learners, faculty and staff and will meet four to six times in the academic year. Find out more about the committees, and their mandates and responsibilities. Those interested in sitting on a committee should fill out the short form below to indicate your expression of interest. Staff and faculty should discuss their interests with their Unit Heads and Supervisors.
