School of Nursing

Canadian Black Nursing Alliance

The Queen’s chapter of the Canadian Black Nursing Alliance fosters community, mentorship, and support for Black nursing students at Queen’s University. It creates a safe space for connection, dialogue, and advocacy within the Queens Health Sciences.

Ontario Black Nurses’ Network

The Ontario Black Nurses’ Network is a community-driven organization that supports the advancement and empowerment of Black nurses across Ontario. It offers networking opportunities, mentorship programs, and resources to promote professional development and advocacy.

Black Nurses Leading Change

Black Nurses Leading Change is an initiative of the Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario aimed at dismantling anti-Black racism in nursing and healthcare. It amplifies the voices and leadership of Black nurses through education, policy advocacy, and collaborative action.

Pan-Canadian Association of Nurses of African Descent

The Pan-Canadian Association of Nurses of African Descent (PCANAD) is a national organization dedicated to uniting and advocating for nurses of African descent across Canada. It focuses on leadership development, community engagement, and addressing systemic racism in healthcare.

School of Medicine

Black Medical Students Association of Canada

The Black Medical Students Association of Canada is a national organization that supports Black medical students through advocacy, mentorship, and programming. It offers resources, events, and a strong peer network to empower students across Canada.

Black Physicians of Canada

Black Physicians of Canada offers a curated list of provincial associations and resources to support Black-identifying medical and high school students. These resources aim to provide guidance, community, and tools for navigating a medical career.

Black Physicians of Ontario

Black Physicians of Ontario is a provincial organization dedicated to the success and advancement of Black physicians and medical students in Ontario. It offers membership benefits, networking events, mentorship, and advocacy opportunities.

Queen’s Black Medical Students’ Association

The Queen’s Black Medical Students’ Association is a student-led club supporting Black-identifying medical students at Queen’s University. It fosters peer connection, advocacy, and representation within the Queens Health Sciences.

Black in Health Sci

A club supporting and building community among black identifying students in the Queens Health Sciences.

Black Physicians of Tomorrow

An organization providing African, Caribbean, Canadian (ACC) individuals with the tools and resources (mentorship, scholarships, volunteer opportunities) needed to prepare for, and attain, careers in the field of medicine and the allied health professions.

School of Rehab Therapy

Queen’s Rehabilitation Therapy Society

The Queen’s Rehabilitation Therapy Society supports learners, and promotes student engagement through academic events, social activities, and community outreach.

Canadian Physiotherapy Association – Global Health Mentorship Program

The mentorship program connecting physiotherapy students and new grads with experienced professionals. The program fosters global health awareness, cultural competence, and leadership development.

Community

Black@Queens

Black@Queens is a program within the Yellow House that caters specifically to Black students. This resource section is designed to be a crucial tool for Black students, consolidating every essential resource into one central location. This includes scholarship opportunities, bursaries, event calendars, and student wellness resources.

The Nest

The Nest offers the QHS community a place for meetings, get-togethers or to study, as well as resources and EDIIA-related programming. It features a kitchen, student lounge and shared meeting and study areas. It is also the home for the Office of Equity and Social Accountability and the Office of Indigenous Health.

Community of Support (COS)

The COS is a collaborative initiative that helps underrepresented students—such as Indigenous, Black, Filipino, Latin American, mature students, students with disabilities, or those facing financial barriers—pursue health sciences programs by providing admissions guidance, mentorship, and access to volunteer, research, and networking opportunities.
