When you access health services, you’re not only in the hands of one person. An average patient in a hospital surgical ward can see up to 27 health professionals during their stay. The newest Queen’s Health Sciences (QHS) 5 à 7 Research Talk from Dr. Wiley Chung, Assistant Professor, Department of Surgery, demonstrates how effective teamwork can improve a patient’s overall outcome
Unleashing the Power of Teamwork in Health Care
Teamwork makes the dream work. Anyone who's worked in a high-functioning team knows that, and Dr. Wiley Chung believes it's the key to achieving better patient health outcomes. He studies how teamwork and interdisciplinary health sciences education can foster radical collaboration and shares unforgettable stories of powerful teamwork in action.

Cinq à Sept Research Talks are inspired by the French tradition of gathering at the end of the workday. Talented researchers headline each Cinq à Sept, which feature engaging, TED-style talks in front of an audience of students, staff, faculty, alumni, and community members. A reception following each Research Talk sparks connection and collaboration—an integral component of the strategic plan for Queen’s Health Sciences: Radical Collaboration for a Healthier World
Tickets
The Cinq à Sept Research Talks run from 5 to 7 p.m. and are held at the Tett Centre, close to campus to allow participants to shift from work or the classroom to the event before going home. There are a limited number of free tickets available to QHS students, staff, and faculty—as well as Queen’s alumni and members of the Kingston community—on a first come first served basis.
