Queen’s Health Sciences is aware of several recent fraudulent emails that have been sent to alumni, impersonating Dr. Lisa Tannock. The emails reference the establishment of fellowships in specific specialty areas, and request a donation.
The emails have been sent from outside the Queen’s system using the domain: [@]healthsci-queensu[.]ca.
Please note:
- These emails were not sent from Queen’s University systems, nor were they delivered to recipients within the university’s email environment.
- Queen’s systems remain secure and unaffected. These are external phishing attempts designed to mislead recipients.
What you should do:
- Be wary of messages from senders and sender domains that are unfamiliar or unusual.
- If you receive a similar email, whether to a personal or Queen’s email account, do not respond and do not click any links or attachments.
- Report malicious emails using self-guided support - How to Report Suspicious or Unwanted Emails to allow the university to track and mitigate these attempts.
Thank you for your vigilance in helping us maintain a secure environment. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Queen’s IT Services or QHS IT.
