Dr. Kim Sears is a Professor at Queen's University. Dr. Sears has over twenty years' experience as a nurse, primarily focused in neonatal intensive care units. Throughout her teaching experience Dr. Sears has been primarily involved in quality and safety in healthcare. She has expertise in the area of curriculum development, design and evaluation.

Research Interests
Dr. Sears conducts an active program of research in health services with a focus on advancing quality care, reducing risk and improving patient safety. Most of her work focuses on furthering the quality and safety of medication delivery. Dr. Sears explores the advancement of medication delivery in Canada and internationally including both the community and hospital settings for children and adults. Dr. Sears has experience working with large databases, quantitative methodology and integrative studies using systemic review methodology.
Dr. Sears has been a visiting scholar at both the University of Melbourne, Melbourne, Australia and the Centre for Teaching and Learning, University of Hawai’i, Honolulu, Hawai’i. She has also been an Educator in Residence at the Centre for Teaching and Learning and an Interprofessional Mentor, Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Further, she has been a Scholar in Residence Health Studies and Health Sciences, Bader College, Queen’s University, Herstmonceux Castle, Hailsham, England. As well she is an Inaugural Recipient of the Richard Resnick Fellowship Queen’s Health Sciences, Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario, Canada and an Adjunct Associate Professor within the School of Public Health and Medical Science, Adelaide University, Adelaide, Australia. Further, she is a Health Sciences Education Scholar within the Office of Professional Development and Educational Scholarship within the Faculty of Health Sciences at Queen’s University.
