Canadian pride will kick into overdrive starting this Friday with the opening of the 22nd Winter Olympic Games in Sochi. Four-time Olympian Hailey Wickenheiser will carry the flag at the opening ceremony with our Canadian Olympic Team of 221 athletes across 14 sports.


On March 7th, the 2014 Paralympic Games will open for 1,650 Paralympians from across the globe. Here is an inspiring video about our Canadian team!

Tuesday January 28th is the fourth annual “Bell Let’s Talk Day”. This national promotion is one of the pillars of the Bell Mental Health Initiative, which was launched in 2010 with a $50 million commitment by Bell to reduce the stigma of mental illness in this country.


“Let’s Talk” is designed to engage all Canadians in the dialogue around mental health. Bell will donate 5¢ more to mental health initiatives across Canada for every:

A Great Kingston Hospital Executive Retires

Last week Cheryl and I joined about 100 individuals at a retirement dinner for Dale Kenney. Dale is stepping down from his role as Chief Executive Officer of Providence Care after six years at the healm of that organization. Dale is leaving after a long and illustrious career as a health care administrator in Kingston. Before his role at PC, Dale was the Vice-President of Joint Planning for Kingston General Hospital, Hotel Dieu Hospital and Providence Care from 1999 to 2008.

A New Year’s Resolution Meets Technology

It’s that time of year.  On January 1, many of us will resolve to change something. There are innumerable lists of the “top ten” resolutions. This one, from pittsburgh.com is typical.1 The list includes:
