With an aging population, it is critical that seniors living in the community receive the support they need. It is important that new effective and cost-efficient strategies are developed to help seniors live where they want to live and prosper in their chosen communities.

Nursing SOAR (Summer Orientation to Academics and Resources)

The SOAR program aims to help ease the transition of incoming first-year students and their families. Participants will have an opportunity to learn about academic expectations, resources, learning strategies, and common student transition issues, as well as meet upper-year students, tour a residence room, and have their questions and concerns addressed.

Incoming first-year Nursing students will have the opportunity to meet with faculty and current Nursing students, and tour the Nursing Simulation Lab.

QMed Shave for the Cure event slated for May 11th

Every year, the QMed first year class organizes a Shave for the Cure event where we collect donations for paediatric cancer and shave our heads or donate our hair. We will be raising money for Childhood Cancer Canada, a foundation that acts to support children with cancer and their families, through research, community supports and education programs.
