Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in Teaching and Learning

Faculty of Health Sciences students are diverse and we need to ensure this diversity is reflected in our teaching and learning. These modules were created to introduce instructors to concepts of equity, diversity and inclusion in teaching and learning so that all students can be supported.

This module is designed to further your understanding of anti-Black racism in the healthcare professions and to provide you with resources to combat and address racism in learning and teaching spaces.  

This foundational module was designed to introduce you to some complex issues surrounding the concepts and theoretical frameworks of identities, power, and privilege. 

This module was designed to help you enhance student learning by opening the dialogue about which knowledges are privileged and why. 

 

This module was designed to help you enhance student learning by introducing strategies to assist in responding to difficult educational conversations. 

This module was designed to help you enhance student learning  by introducing you to inclusive and responsive teaching practices. 

Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is an educational framework to advance and optimize teaching and learning for all individuals based on scientific insights into how humans learn.  This module is aimed to strengthen your professional skills in making course design and delivery more inclusive in order to increase the quality of student learning.
