The Experiential Learning Program provides hands-on learning opportunities at all educational and training levels and can be widely used in any organization. Our HscELP participants allow students & professionals the opportunity to practice these skills in safe, structured, & supervised settings before they encounter real situations. The ability to practice skills prior to a real life situation has proven to be valuable in all areas of education and training.
Levels of difficulty can be tailored to the level of learner being taught or assessed. Our HscELP members can participate as themselves in clinical skills sessions or can be trained to simulate the personal history, physical symptoms, emotional characteristics, and everyday concerns of certain cases. They become a teaching model for students and can offer their authentic medical history or portray the same case in a standardized way, allowing a large volume of learners to have the same experience and be individually and fairly assessed.
There are 2 types of participants to choose from depending on your learning environment:
- Clinical Participant (Unscripted):
An individual recruited to provide an understanding of an illness or condition through the sharing of their personal story and illness experience. Clinical participants also participate in non-invasive in physical assessments that do not involve scripts, physical acting or assumption of non-existing conditions. These participants are not trained or standardized in their participation.
-
Standardized Participant (Scripted):
An individual specially trained to simulate a set of symptoms, conditions or scenarios. These participants are trained and standardized in their participation.
