Biography: Shelley-Ann is a Registered Dental Hygienist working in Public Health helping families access oral health care.  She completed her Bachelor of Allied Health Sciences through Ontario Tech (UOIT) in 2018 and continued on to the Master of Science in Health Quality here at Queen's University.  Her interest in health quality stems from an undergraduate course in which the concept of LEAN process improvement methodology was introduced.  Shelley-Ann went on to complete her LEAN Greenbelt certification in March with a project focused on optimizing clinical appointment communications through the use of text and email.  She is interested learning how health quality concepts and theory can be applied not only to hospital and primary care settings, but to the broader healthcare scene.

Research Interests: Application of quality improvement, patient safety and human factors frameworks to the broader health care context including public health and allied health services; Influence/impact of regulation on establishing and maintaining safety culture with regulated health professionals.
