Keynote Presentation: Dr. Brian Hodges
"Adapting Health Professions for the future: What do we need humans for?"
Brian D. Hodges, MD, PhD, FRCPC is a Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Edcuation at the University of Toronto; the Richard & Elizabeth Currie Chair in Health Professions Education Research at the Wilson Centre and Executive Vice President Education at the University Health Network. His reseach focuses on assessment, competence, compassion and the future of the health profession. His work has been recognized with the Association of American Medical Colleges Flexner Award and the Karolinska Institutet Prize for Research in Medical Education. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and an MD at Queen's University and completed a residency in psychiatry at the University of Toronto. He earned a Master's than a Ph.D. in Education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Educaiton in Toronto. He also holds a Diploma in Health Economics and Social Sciences from the University of Paris.
