Dr. Jacqueline Galica is an Associate Professor in School of Nursing. She earned her PhD in Nursing Science from the University of Toronto and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Psychosocial Oncology at McGill University.
With a clinical background as a Clinical Trials Nurse Coordinator at the Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto, Dr. Galica combines hands-on experience with cutting-edge research. Dr. Galica’s research in Providence Care focuses on understanding the patient experience in healthcare, and gaining insight into the role of compassionate care in the healthcare field. Dr. Galica collaborates with clinicians, cancer patients and survivors, and caregivers to ensure that the research outcomes have important implications for both healthcare providers and the patients.
Research Interests
Preparing for transitions along the cancer trajectory; gaining insights into the cancer experience; and understanding compassionate care in healthcare contexts. To complete this work, her team has used quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods and scoping review methods.
