You should begin your search by first determining your motivations for engaging in a global health placement. Depending on your level of training, your experience and motivations may differ. The Office of Global Health encourages you to complete some research online about global health ethics and the motivations of student placements.
The next step would be to determine what type of placement you are interested in. Some criteria to consider may include:
- Rural versus urban location
- Hospital or clinic setting
- Type of preferred accommodation - homestay or independent accommodation
- Whether you are an experienced traveler or just starting to travel on your own
Please visit the Observership Database to review placements that previous Queen's students have participated in. Current students may explore previous placements or prepare an application for a new placement opportunity.
