The Glaxo Wellcome Clinical Education Centre is located just steps from Lake Ontario and blocks from historic downtown Kingston and the complementary facilities of Queen’s University. It is the product of a university/corporate partnership within the health sciences disciplines. The Centre provides an ideal environment for professional groups to share ideas and learn in a comfortable setting.
Who uses the Centre?
The GWCEC welcomes and encourages use of its facilities and services for curriculum delivery and professional education in the Faculty of Health Sciences, as well as other academic programs outside the Faculty. Community and private sector groups may also utilize our facilities at competitive rates. GWCEC staff will make every effort to accommodate all usage requests.
What do we offer?
- 50 seat classroom with audiovisual links to the examination rooms
- 16 examination rooms with videotaping capacity, each equipped with a laptop
- Large skills-development lab
- 4 seminar rooms
- Wireless environment
- Videotaping and play-back facilities
- Closed circuit television throughout the Centre
- Multimedia support (data projectors, overhead projectors, remote microphones)
- Kitchen facilities

Whether your group is large or small, the GWCEC is the perfect location for conferences, seminars and workshops. Our facilities are specially designed for teaching:

When is the Centre available?
Our conference and educational facilities are available at competitive rates throughout the year; however, our greatest availability is during the months of May through August.
