Dr. Janet Rossant to provide 2015 Gairdner lectures

    We are pleased to announce that Dr. Janet Rossant will be visiting Queen’s University/Kingston General Hospital on Friday, November 27, 2015 as part of the Gairdner National Program.  Dr. Rossant is the 2015 Canada Gairdner Wightman Award recipient, "for her outstanding scientific contributions to developmental biology and for her exceptional international leadership in stem cell biology and policy-making, and in advancing research programs for children’s illnesses."  


    Two lectures are planned during her visit:

    -        Student Lecture:  “Stem cells are us - why stem cells matter”
    12:00 to 1:00 pm, School of Medicine building, 15 Arch Street, Lecture Theatre 132A (main floor)

    -        Faculty/Public Lecture:  “Making an embryo - from cells to genes to stem cells”
    4:00 to 5:00 pm, Botterell Hall, 18 Stuart Street, Lecture Room B143 (B1 level)
